Brynmawr RFC Ltd have a vacancy, and are seeking to appoint a bar-manager/manageress from May 2018.

The club are searching for a committed, pro-active person who would enjoy working in an exciting and fast paced environment. They will promote and grow the business, hire and train staff and ensure that members are receiving an excellent experience and service at all times.

Below is a brief job description of the role:

  • Hours are Monday to Sunday including days and nights as and when is required.
  • Primary key holder and responsible for call outs at all times.
  • Responsible for staffing levels during busy and quiet periods.
  • Ensure stock is adequate and liaise with the brewery for ordering stock as and when required.  
  • Take delivery of stock from the brewery.
  • Banking of all takings .
  • Running of the Lucky4 bonus ball, including the receiving of tickets, the making of the draw.
  • Take bookings for functions, which will include parties, funerals, etc, which take place in both the lounge and concert room.
  • Layout of the concert room tables and chairs to accommodate party groups of between 40 to 140 people.
  • Ensure all waste is bagged and put in the waste removal bin located outside the premises.
  • Responsible for cleaning of both inside and outside of the premises, ensuring that a high level of cleanliness is maintained.
  • Provide match day food for both home and away rugby players on any match day. To include senior, youth and junior teams. This will include week-nights and weekend afternoons.
  • Provide food on rugby international days for all members and guests who attend the club. 
  • Provide food for any club member sporting functions.
  • Take membership subscriptions from 1st June to the 31st October in any year.
  • Ensure non-members are signed in to the club by a member. 
  • Planning and taking part in promotional events within the club.
  • Maintain a fun and safe atmosphere for patrons.  
  • Ensure any maintenance problems are addressed and rectified as soon as is practically possible. 
  • Ensure the premises are secured, and all lights and heating are off at the end of every shift.
  • The duties and responsibilities are difficult to define in detail and may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or level of responsibilities entailed. The post holder is therefore expected to undertake such other duties as may be requested provided the general character of the duties or level of responsibility does not change.
